Sunday of my Life

Well, here I sit writing this short ‘n’ sweet post while my family watches the funeral of Pope John Paul II. As my friends will know my religious beliefs are two things to me. Entirely my own and something I keep to myself; and mostly non-existant. I have a faith and I have spirituality, but religion I lack, and I think I’m all the better for it, but I didn’t come here today to get into that.

Thus is intered into the ground the body of Pope John Paul II. A good person, by all accounts. Johnny? You did a lot of good for the world, and you perpetuated a lot of crap and fallacy. You were, in the end, human, nothing more. But you were also nothing less, which is more than I can say for many leading figures in this world. Rest well.

As soon as you get it you get the terrible urge to pass it on (bad simile, I know, but it’s late, get over it.)
